How to migrate your Xbox 360 Minecraft Maps to your Xbox One

Build with your imagination! Minecraft, the best-selling game on Xbox 360, is now available on Xbox One. Create and explore your very own world where the only limit is what you can imagine – just be sure to build a shelter before night comes to keep yourself safe from monsters. Play on your own, or with up to 4 players split screen, or 8 players online.

If you’ve played Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition you can get Minecraft: Xbox One Edition for only $4.99*. You also are able to get content you already paid for on your 360 on your One by heading to the store and selecting “Get It Free” from the store page.

Migrating

The migration process is fairly simple but lengthy if you have several to numerous maps to transfer, reason being that you can only transfer one map at a time and you have to complete a full transfer before you can move on to another map. One thing to note is that despite the Xbox One version supports larger maps, your existing maps will remain the same size.

On the Xbox 360

  • Log into your console
  • Start Minecraft
  • Go to the Play Game screen
  • Highlight a saved game and press Y to upload it to the cloud.

On the Xbox One

  • Log into your console
  • Start Minecraft
  • Go to the Play Game screen
  • Press X to download your map from the cloud.

Keep doing that until you have all your maps migrated. Have fun.

* Upgrade price is available for players that have played Minecraft: Xbox 360 with their Xbox Live Gold account.
